Foreign Nationals can obtain a Boxing License from the MBA ONLY if they are coming from a Country which is not affiliated to the EBU or WBC. This entails the boxer to present the necessary medicals (MRI/MRA, Eye Tests, Blood Tests- Hepatitis B & C & HIV). These medicals must be done in the Country in which the boxer domicile, medicals done in other Countries will not be accepted. All medicals are to be submitted with the application form and the payment. All medicals will be verified by the MBA, and should any of the medicals proofs to be false, the application will be refused and the license fee will be forfeited and will not be refunded. The application will normally be confirmed within 10 days, depending on the verification of the medicals process.
For Boxers having a nationality from a Country being affiliated to the EBU or WBC, these can only obtain an MBA License if they have proof of residence in the Maltese Islands. This shall include proof of a Utility Bill on the boxer's name.
